Smart and effective server security that combines real-time threat detection with health monitoring to identify real risks and changes in system reliability.
Messageware Incorporated today announced the release of Server Threat Guard (STG) Version 2.9. This release builds on the health monitoring capabilities giving IT and SecOps teams clearer separation between security and health reporting, deeper visibility into IIS configuration changes, and more control over alert frequency.
STG v2.9 refines how server health information reaches teams, with smarter throttling so the alerts that matter most get through without adding noise.
“With v2.9, we’ve made it easier for teams to tell health issues apart from security issues at a glance, and to tune how often they hear about the things that don’t need daily attention” said Mark Rotman, President and CEO of Messageware.
Server Threat Guard v2.9 — Key Features
Server Operations
- Enhanced IIS Configuration Change Detection: Expanded monitoring of IIS changes, including filters, extensions, modules, authentication settings, and file handlers, giving teams greater visibility into configuration drift that could affect server health or security.
Admin and Management Dashboard
- Health Sever Throttling: Administrators can now adjust the frequently health alerts are sent; for example, moving a non-urgent but important alert (such as an upcoming SSL certificate expiration) from a daily notification down to a weekly one. Serious health conditions continue to alert at full frequency, ensuring urgent issues are never delayed while routine ones generate less noise.
Email Alerts, Notifications and Reporting
- Dedicated Health Report: Server health and stability findings are now delivered in a separate daily summary from security alerts, making it easy to distinguish routine health items (like a NIC link drop) from security-relevant events (like an unrecognized admin login).
- Multi-Line Email Alert View: A redesigned alert layout improves readability and reduces whitespace, making it faster to scan alert details in email notifications.
