Messageware’s award-winning OWA Desktop solution, which provides the power of and access to OWA from Windows’ desktops, earns Microsoft Platform Ready Exchange 2010 Compatibility.

February 6, 2012, Toronto, Canada – Messageware (http://www.messageware.com), the world’s leading provider of enterprise security, productivity, and customization solutions for Microsoft Exchange and Outlook Web App (OWA), today announced that their Messageware OWA Desktop client has completed the Microsoft Platform Ready testing for compatibility with Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. Together with Messageware ActiveSend, the two solutions enable Exchange 2010 users to have complete control over their OWA sessions from their desktops.

“Our ISV community is alive with innovation, and we’re committed to helping our partners drive the next generation of software experiences,” said Ross Brown, Vice President of ISV and Solutions Partners for the Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft. “Adding compatibility for the latest Microsoft technologies helps ISVs to stay ahead of the competition and give their customers access to cutting-edge technologies.”

OWA Desktop brings OWA webmail functionality to the user’s desktop, mirroring the desktop Outlook experience, but with the added benefit of a thin client. No more need for a log-on every time a user would like to view or send a message or access their calendar. New mail and appointment alerts, with one-click access to advanced features, are provided to the user in real time. OWA Desktop gives the user functionality they have come to expect and depend on from Outlook and goes a step further by providing time-saving features not found in native desktop Outlook. Other key features include:

  • Advanced New Mail and Reminder notifications
  • Import and export personal contacts
  • Import regional, national and religious holidays
  • Easily manage multiple email accounts
  • At-a-glance status reporting
