President’s Message from Mark Rotman Mobile: I am often asked for my thoughts on EAS (ActiveSync) vs OWA security given the amount of corporate mail that is being accessed and stored on personal mobile devices. It is always a tradeoff between the convenience of native email client and information security. Consider what happens if the device is lost or stolen (3.1M stolen last year in the US), how secure is the cloud backup that most devices default to, can you enforce policies in the device (eg. strong passwords), and what is the cost to the enterprise of data exposure.
OWA on the mobile solves a number of these issues and OWA on the mobile device with Messageware solves many more. Give us a call if you would like to explore this in more detail.

Messageware OWA Client Suite 2013 Updates
Messageware is pleased to announce the latest release of our OWA Client Suite 2013. This release updates both OFFICE 365 and ON-PREMISE editions. The OWA Desktop interface has also been refreshed and users will appreciate how easy it is to work with OWA when a small desktop app is managing their Inbox and Calendars.
The Messageware OWA Client Suite 2013 vR20 is currently available for production installation and contains both of our award winning client side applications that bring desktop Outlook functionality to the OWA user.
Messageware Adds Additional Product Features
Plus Pack 2013 now includes an Advanced Search feature that gives users the capability to search for recipients in the Corporate Global Address List using customizable search fields. Advanced Search is very useful for finding individuals in a particular department of office location and zeroing in on one individual in an organization that may have several staff with the same name.
AttachView 2013 updates include enhancements to both the smartphone OWA user interface as well as the iPhone OWA App. Now users can easily work with a variety of document types on their phones, without the need to extract or forward corporate documents.
Messageware Supports the Latest Microsoft Cumulative Updates and Rollups
Cumulative Update 8 for Exchange 2013
The Microsoft Exchange Team recently announced the availability of the latest quarterly servicing update to Exchange Server 2013. Cumulative Update 8 contains a number of minor updates and security fixes. A complete list of issues resolved in Exchange Server 2013 CU8 can be found in the Knowledge Base Article 3030080.
The Messageware 2013 OWA Server Suite v1.5 is currently available for production installation with Exchange 2013 CU8. Our Server Suite includes our primary security products and our feature enhancing Plus Pack. The combination of Messageware OWA Suite and Microsoft Exchange 2013 Outlook Web App provides a complete browser-based email solution.
Messageware OWA Guard is also available for production installation with Exchange 2013 CU8. OWA Guard provides advanced server authentication security to protect Outlook Web App users and businesses.
Customers running Messageware 2013 software in their Exchange 2013 OWA environments will need to download and install the new Messageware software prior to installing CU8 for Exchange 2013.
Update Rollup 9 for Exchange 2010
The Microsoft Exchange Team also recently announced the availability of Update Rollup 9 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3.
RU9 is the latest rollup of customer fixes available for Exchange Server 2010 SP3, containing fixes for customer reported issues and previously released security bulletins. A complete list of issues resolved in Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3 Update Rollup 9 can be found in KB3030085.
The Messageware 2010 OWA Server Suite v2520 has been updated with support for Exchange 2010 SP3 RU9 and is currently available for production installation.
