Messageware OWA Desktop and ActiveSend were selected from hundreds of apps as featured products on the Microsoft Office 365 Marketplace.

December 13, 2011, Toronto, Canada – Messageware (, the world’s leading provider of enterprise security, productivity and customization solutions for Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access and Outlook Web App (OWA), today announced that their OWA Desktop and ActiveSend solutions have been selected by the Microsoft Office 365 Marketplace, the app store for Office 365, to be a featured application.

“Messageware has been a valued ISV partner for over a decade and we are pleased to see them developing new products for Office 365,” said Gayle Riviere, Partner Network Marketing Manager for Microsoft Canada.

The Office 365 Marketplace showcases professional services and applications from Independent Software Vendors (ISV) that have migrated their current BPOS applications to Office 365 or have worked through the Office 365 beta and have commercially available applications that can be consumed by Office 365 customers. Currently, over 100 apps and 400 professionals services from among 16,000 Microsoft partners are listed in the Marketplace.

Messageware OWA Desktop for Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web App 2010 and Outlook Web Access 2007 is the first solution to bring OWA webmail functionality to the user’s desktop in a hosted environment, such as Office 365. It mirrors the desktop client experience, but with the added benefits of a browser based email. With OWA Desktop, the user can view or send a message, and access their calendar and tasks with a single click. Enhanced new mail and appointment alerts are provided to the user in real time.

The client-side companion to OWA Desktop, ActiveSend makes it easier to send email from within Office 365 applications by enabling the File/SendTo functionality. For the first time, users are able to send emails with attachments in only one click.

“We are thrilled that Microsoft has recognized the value that we bring to Office 365 and we look forward to adding additional features in the months and years to come,” said Mark Rotman, President & CEO of Messageware.
